Blusher is the latest boom in the makeup world. But do you know how to wear it and what your blusher says about you? You don’t? Watch the video to find out more.

It’s powder, it’s liquid, it’s cream. And it’s everywhere, in every colour. We’re talking about blusher. But do you know how to apply blusher properly? Trust me, the right application can completely transform your makeup routine. In fact, the right placement is perhaps even more important than the product you use.

A Face Like After a Facelift

Apply the blusher to the top of your cheekbone and blend upwards using a brush or your fingers. This will beautifully brighten your face and give you a lifting effect at home, painlessly and for just a few pennies. Blusher on the top of the cheeks looks sexy, adult and works great in combination with, for example, cat-eye or faded eyeliner.

Try These Blushers

Cute and Cuddly

If you've been wearing blusher for a while, you've probably heard that it should be applied when you smile and on the centre of your cheeks (called the apples of your cheeks). But this style can make your whole look appear saggy, and if your cheeks are naturally flushed, it won't help them much.

Apply blusher to the eye area, not directly on the cheeks - roughly in the position of the outer corners. This creates a cute look with full cheeks and a youthful appearance. It's ideal for those of you who don't like to wear a lot of makeup, or for use in combination with subtle nude eyeshadow.

The Perfect Blusher for Every Day

Holiday Glow

I'll just come out and say it: if I could, I would spend eighty percent of the year at the seaside. Not only does the salt water and sunshine make me feel better, but it also makes my skin glow beautifully. It's a dream, but there's nothing stopping us from creating a similar look at home, no matter what the weather is like.

Apply the blusher to your cheeks, nose and along the entire centre of your face. Where you tan naturally and have a little cute reddening.

TIP: Reach for a red liquid or cream blusher because red is the best way to mimic a natural blush and make you feel like you're on holiday.
