Colour Correctors: Do You Know How to Use Them?

Do you know how to use colour correcting concealers? Cover your under-eye circles, scars or acne easlily. The colour correctors use the contrast of complementary colours to neutralise the unwanted skin imperfections. Choose which colour is most suitable for your specific needs, or go for a concealer palette for a healthy glow.

Green Concealer

What to use it for:

Green is opposite the color wheel from red, so it is ideal for neutralizing red spots on the skin. It’s an ideal concealer for acne, red scars, or spider veins. Avoid putting it on open wounds.

How do you use it:

Apply a thin layer of green concealer to the problem areas on the face. Blend it thoroughly and smoothly, and then apply foundation normally. The red spots and scars are guaranteed to be less visible.

Purple Concealer

What to use it for:

Purple is best for combatting yellow undertones and brightening skin. It also gives you a brightened and fresh look.

How do you use it:

Match the concealer to your skin tone. Pale skin tones will benefit from light violet shades while darker ones can handle a brighter purple. Apply a small amount of the concealer on your skin using a brush or a sponge, then apply foundation as usual.

Orange Concealer

What to use it for:

Orange is opposite from blue. Just a small amount is enough to give your dull, grey skin a healthier look. And if you mix it with a little green concealer, it also conceals greenish-blue veins.

How do you use it:

Apply the orange concealer to the under-eye circles, blend it out carefully and then use a foundation. You will immediately look younger.

Pink Concealer

What to use it for:

Pink concealer is created from a mix of red, orange, and yellow tones, which are opposite from blue, green and purple on the wheel. This makes the concealer great for covering age spots, freckles, or birthmarks on light skin tones. This concealer should not be used to conceal purple bags as it would only make them stand out more.

How do you use it:

Like a green concealer, use it only on the problematic areas, blend it out and then apply your foundation.
