In 2013, perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena stamped his own identity on Bel Ami with a new material: vetiver.

OLFACTORY NOTES
With notes of leather and wood, Bel Ami Vétiver eau de toilette introduces a new tone with a combination of intense vetiver, rich leather and sensual cistus ladanifer.

THE OBJECT
The bottle, inspired by the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages, has a black cap reminiscent of a riding hat. The back label is illustrated with a design by Philippe Dumas, indicating that it belongs to the Parfums-Fondateurs collection.

The Parfums-Fondateurs collection draws inspiration from the house’s heritage. Each THE CREATION encapsulates Hermès’ imaginary world in a name, a fragrance and a colour. Over the years, Hermès has pioneered a bold style of perfumery, resulting from encounters with exceptional perfumers.




Without disrupting the past order – the same balance, the same confident elegance, the same classic structure – Jean-Claude Ellena created his own interpretation of Bel Ami based on a new ingredient: vetiver. From chypre leather to woody leather: now the light of warm, woody, green vetiver, with a very subtle smokiness, becomes the centrepiece, replacing the patchouli of before.
