About the brand Listerine

Listerine – comprehensive oral care. Listerine, the complete oral care brand, is named after the English doctor Joseph Lister, who revolutionised surgical operations through the discovery and promotion of antisepsis, sterile operations, and the sterilisation of surgical instruments. Listerine was at the very beginning of disinfection and from 1920 was the first brand to present itself as a mouthwash to eliminate bad breath.
The history of Listerine goes back to 1879, when Dr Lawrence discovered the original base ingredients with an antiseptic effect. Dentists also started using his discovery from 1895, having discovered that it could be used for bacteria in the mouth. Listerine gradually became a pioneer and synonymous with the fight against bad breath. Today Listerine is owned by the US pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson, whose products are sold in more than 175 countries.
Listerine products offer a revolutionary solution in the fight against bacteria in the mouth. Listerine antiseptic mouthwash can destroy up to 99% of the bacteria that cause plaque and gum problems. The Listerine range is far broader and offers specialist solutions for various problems and customers’ requirements. The selection of mouthwashes offers products aimed at protecting tooth enamel and gums, promoting whiteness of the teeth, and combating decay, and special mouthwashes for children. For Listerine, protection against bacteria and bad breath goes without saying.
Listerine mouthwash reliably destroys bacteria you can’t simply use a toothbrush to get rid of, protecting your oral health. It also offers a wide range of other effects that will help you to get and maintain a beautiful smile.
