Composition of the fragrance:
Bergamot and bitter orange meet the zesty sharpness of lemon. Warm cloves then mingle with juniper and lavender; pine gives their aromatic character a resinous edge, joined by clary sage and thyme. Amber follows with warmth beside cedarwood, while musk smooths the creamy sandalwood that remains in the drydown.
Story of the fragrance:
Created by perfumer Lino Vidal in Venice in 1955, Pino Silvestre Original became a classic of masculine perfumery, recognised by its green pinecone-shaped bottle. In 2023, Mavive supplied Vidal's original handwritten formula to the Osmothèque in Versailles, where Thomas Fontaine reconstructed it for preservation in the archive of historic perfumes.
