Did you know that the most important product in your skincare routine is a cream with a high SPF? Do you grab for it every day, or only when you go to the mountains and the beach? The first option is obviously correct!

If you implement SPF into your daily routine, your skin will thank you. And if you start buttering up your loved ones, young and old, they will thank you too. Because the benefits of daily application outweigh the feeling of stickiness that SPF cream gives us. But don't despair, there's something for everyone in the dermoproduct range of SPF products. The different textures and finishes really don't stick and will definitely be suitable for everyone.

"Daily use of SPF on the face slows skin ageing, the formation of wrinkles and pigment spots and reduces the risk of skin cancer."

UVA a UVB radiation

UVA and UVB rays are part of the sun's radiation and are the harmful rays that wreak havoc on your skin and complexion. UVA rays are ever present in all weather, passing through clouds and glass, which is why you should use SPF cream every day.

UVB radiation does not pass through clouds or glass and is only dangerous to the skin when the sun is well and truly shining. It causes skin redness and sunburn and can increase the risk of skin cancer. Read more about UVA and UVB rays from our article in the Make SPF your BFF project

Try these creams with SPF

An everyday must

Therefore, if you want to slow down ageing, avoid pigment spots and the increased risk of skin cancer, and delay wrinkles for as long as possible, you should apply an SPF every day. After all, I have SPF in my day cream and foundation, you're saying to yourself? Yes, we understand your frustration, but the SPF contained in your day cream or foundation won't give you the protection you need.

The SPF in these products is usually low, and you probably don't put enough cream or foundation on your face to guarantee adequate protection. That's why you should get a special protective face (SPF) cream, which will become part of your daily routine.

Apply SPF religiously

How much SPF cream is needed?

Do you know how much cream you need? One teaspoon for the face, but that's hard to measure in the morning. Try the two-finger rule. Make a " small v" out of your index and middle fingers and put exactly the amount of product you need to cover those fingers on your face. Yes, this is just for the face.

Don't be afraid to slather it on, you won't be white.

Luckily, high protection creams don't mean thick white stuff all over your body anymore. Mattifying fluids for oily skin, tinted creams for sensitive and red skin, sticks for extra protection on sensitive areas or a travel spray to reapply during the day to restore your protective layer. There's plenty to choose from, so go for it, ideally starting now.

Now you know why you need a special cream with SPF. So be sure to apply and keep it in mind throughout the day. Reapplying your SPF is also extremely important. Add to that a regular check of moles.
