What Can a Breast Tape Do?

Imagine your favourite bra - it gives support, lifts your breasts and maybe even creates a seductive cleavage. Now imagine the whole effect without the bra showing.That's what breast tape which can be worn with plunging necklines, dresses with exposed backs or strapless tops can do. As you may suspect, it just takes a bit more work than fastening with a few hooks.

For Whom? Everyone!

Indeed, tapes instead of bras can be used by women with breasts of any size, including those with large busts. Those should count with using up more tape though, and ideally opt for a wider type. The tape is also available in several different shades, so it adapts nicely to your skin tone - just in case a piece of tape pops out of your outfit.

A Step-by-Step Breast Taping Tutorial

Have you got the tape? Then get some regenerative oil to take it off (trust us, you'll thank yourself in the evening when you get back from the party) and nipple stickers for good measure and you're on your way.

1. First, make sure your skin can handle the tape. Irritated, red or damaged skin is a no-go. Even if everything seems fine, run a small test just to be sure. Stick a piece of the tape on your skin in the cleavage area, and wait for a few hours. No reaction? Great, you can keep going.
2. The desired effect and optimal adherence will be achieved on clean, dry skin (so leave out your favourite body butter after a shower this time).
3. If you want to save yourself some work, put on your chosen top or dress, and use a nude eye pencil, for example, to mark where your cleavage ends so that you know how far to go with the taping.
4. Now it's time to pick up the scissors and cut the strips to the optimum length. At the same time, trim the corners of the strips until they are round. This way the corners won't catch on your clothes.
5. Let's get taping! Hold your breasts in the position you want them in, and start applying the tapes one by one. There are various strategies depending on your chosen outfit. Strapless tops need horizontal taping, starting from the bottom, whereas plunging necklines require vertical taping, and you can also add tape from the side of your breasts to create a groove. If the tape will need to go over your nipples, don't forget to cover them with stickers.
6. In the case of dresses with a plunging neckline, where there is a risk that the fabric will peel off and reveal your taping "hack", double-sided textile tape will also be useful. This will keep everything in place.

Harmless Removal

Does it hurt to peel off the tape? It shouldn't if you know how to do it. But don't try the quick-tear method like a band-aid, and don't peel off the tape in the shower. Most of them are waterproof (to handle perspiration), so you could make the situation worse.

Proceed slowly by unsticking the tape carefully with one hand, holding your skin with the other. The regeneration oil we mentioned is a good helper (if you don't have it, look for coconut or jojoba oil, for example). Spray or spread it on the tapes and the surrounding skin to make the removal easier.
