Lipstick. In a world of ever-changing trends, it is perhaps the only beauty product that has stood the test of time! From its humble beginnings to its current global popularity, lipstick has become a symbol of self-confidence, self-expression and a popular tool for enhancing one's own beauty. Do you want to know why?

Lipstick has the amazing ability to instantly enhance your overall look and send your confidence skyrocketing. With just one sweep, it enhances your natural beauty and adds another element of personal charm. Whether you use a bold bright lipstick to draw attention to yourself or a soft nude for a quick pick-me-up, it allows you to easily show your personality and style. It will give you the feeling that you can handle whatever life is presently throwing at you.

Lipstick is no longer just a beauty product. It is an important instrument for self-care and self-expression.

Lipsticks not only for a better self-esteem

By accentuating your lips, you are not only emphasising your beauty, but also embracing your individuality whilst celebrating diversity. It is a symbol of your strength and self-confidence. Lipstick is a true reminder that beauty is not about being bound by societal norms, but a personal journey towards self-love and self-acceptance.

What are the lipstick trends of 2023

  1. Shine is back - after years of a matte and dry lip, lip glosses and glossy lipsticks that don't stick are making a comeback.
  2. Glitter is back again - this trend is back, and straight out of the 90s! Metallic and glitter lipsticks are a must have for 2023!

Although it may seem like it, lipstick in our handbag is not a modern invention. People first started using it in the time of ancient civilisations. They made it from natural ingredients such as crushed gemstones, fruits and even insects.

The ancient Egyptians used a mixture of red ochre and animal fat, while the ancient Greeks and Romans chose to colour their lips with berry juices and plant extracts. Over the centuries, lipstick has evolved as have production techniques and new shades, textures and finishes have been created.

Our tip:

You can control the intensity of your lipstick by how you apply it - with a brush or directly to achieve the greatest intensity. If you apply it with a fluffy brush and tap it with your finger, you can wear red lipstick even when you don't feel like it. The intensity of the shade will be deliciously subtle!

Lipsticks for a brighter day

Accentuated lips also played an important role in cultural and social contexts. Throughout history, various societies have embraced lipstick as a symbol of status, sensuality, and perhaps even rebellion. In some cultures, such as the African Masai tribe, lip painting is a traditional practice that has cultural and spiritual significance. In the 20th century, lipstick became a symbol of women's liberation, with the suffragette movement and Hollywood stars adopting it as their own.
