Even if there are lots of sweet things and other Christmas goodies around you right now, you can indulge in a square of chocolate without feeling bad about the extra calories. Do you also get a lift with when you hear the word ‘chocolate’?

The secret is in the ingredients 

Chocolate can really boost our mood. It contains chemicals which support endorphin production in the brain, those feel-good hormones which help eliminate anxiety and stress. Chocolate also contains a lot of flavonoids, strong antioxidants which help combat ageing.   

Even just that feeling of a square of chocolate melting on our tongues...It feels good just thinking about it. Try to give yourself at least one treat today, even if you shouldn’t really eat chocolate. Get a dessert, open a bag of your favourite sweets, make yourself a hot chocolate, sweeten up your life even before Christmas Day!
