Do you love that feeling of adrenaline and happiness that follows a good workout? It's great for the body, but sometimes tough on the skin. Exercise takes a toll on your body, and perspiration, bacteria, and dirt take a toll on your skin, which may "repay" you by breaking out in pimples. The good news? It can be prevented, and I'll tell you how.

During exercise, your skin is exposed to a whole range of hazards. Perspiration clogs pores, bacteria from gym equipment unnecessarily aggravate the skin, and makeup residue only makes the situation worse. Whether you're working out at the gym, running outside, or hitting the mat at home, your skin needs the same care as your muscles when you exercise. So don't irritate it unnecessarily.

Pre-workout: preparation is key

Remove your makeupMakeup and perspiration? Not a good combination. Makeup mixed with perspiration creates the ideal environment for pimples to form. Use a gentle micellar water or makeup remover balm and give your skin a chance to breathe.

Light skin care, no heavy creamsThick cream can turn into a very annoying sticky mess during exercise. Instead, opt for a light, non-greasy hydrating cream or refreshing skin mist that hydrates the skin without weighing it down.

Don't forget about SPFDo you exercise outdoors? Sun protection is a must. Use a waterproof sun cream with SPF 30 or higher – ideally one that can withstand drops of perspiration. And actually apply it even if you're working out in the gym.

Must-have products for beautiful skin even while working out

During exercise: maintain cleanliness and calmness

Don't touch your face – Even if you're perspiring, resist the urge to touch your face. Your hands and the exercise machines are full of bacteria. Keep a clean towel handy and gently wipe away any perspiration, ideally by pressing the towel against your skin rather than rubbing it.

Drink plenty of water – Hydration not only affects your performance, but also your skin. Water helps flush out toxins and ensures that your skin remains supple and radiant.

Tie your hair back – Styling products in your hair can get onto your skin when you perspire. Use a hair tie or headband and leave your skin free.

Post-workout: time for cleansing and regeneration

Wash your face as soon as possible – Once you're done, head straight to the sink! Perspiration, oil, and impurities must be removed. Ideally, use a gentle cleansing gel for problematic skin or cleansing oil or milk for drier skin types.

Soothe and hydrate – After cleansing, soothe your skin. A light face cream or serum with aloe vera or niacinamide will help calm any redness and provide essential nourishment.

Shower and clean clothes – Staying in sweaty clothes = an invitation for acne on your back and chest. A quick shower, fragrant shower gel, and a clean outfit can work wonders not only for your skin but also for your self-confidence.
