Of all the parts of the face, eyes are the most difficult when it comes to makeup. Applying shadows, pigments and liners is an art that makeup artists have been learning for years. And we have written down the most important tips for precise, perfect eye makeup that really lasts.

Everyone can apply eyeshadow in some way. But learning to apply it correctly is not so easy. What to do to make it last all day without budging or smudging? So it looks flawless even after dancing the night away? Check out our five tips!

      1. No brushes, no go

When you go to have your makeup done by a professional, they will not use their fingers to apply eye makeup, but will definitely use quality brushes. That's right, you simply cannot apply eyeshadows perfectly without a proper brush (or preferably three). Get some great eye makeup brushes in your beauty bag and see that your makeup will only get better and better.

      2. The base is key

Although you can apply your eyeshadow nicely, it smudges within a few hours and doesn’t look good anymore? You probably underestimated the importance of a proper prep. If you don't have an extra oily eyelid, just apply a concealer to the whole eyelid and then powder

This will give the eyeshadow something to adhere to and make it last. If that doesn't help either, reach for an eyeshadow primer. Just keep in mind that with a primer a little goes a long way, otherwise the opposite can happen and you will have eyeshadow all over the place.

What to buy for sure

     3. Look ahead

Youthful and firm eyelids are a win. Close your eye, apply what you need, and when you open it, everything is where it's supposed to be. But if you have looser skin or hooded eyes, a lot of makeup can be disappear when you open your eyes.

That's why it's best to start outlining everything with the eye open - the eyeliner, the contour of the eye... You can immediately see where you need to apply the eyeshadow so that it is visible, or how to do winged eyeliner so that it has the right angle.

     4. Dazzling like hell

Have you got tired eyes? Did you cry the whole night through? Or do you need to pretend you got a good night's sleep after a big night out? This trick is especially for you. Apply a very light nude shadow to the lid where you used concealer and powder.

Any shadow you use after that will be more intense and bring out your eyes more. Apply a white or flesh-coloured eye pencil to the waterline. The eye looks bigger, and any redness and fatigue (at least what is visible) disappears.

     5. An eyelash curler for every family

We all know curling your eyelashes with a curler really opens up your eyes. But we have one more little trick for you. Just when you think your lashes are perfectly curled, turn your wrist further away from you and squeeze for dear life. Do not open the curler, just loosen and strengthen the grip. You will see that miracles can be done even with shorter eyelashes. And, of course, you mustn't forget a few coats of mascara.

What you cannot get by without

Are you ready to try it? Well, you should be! This really works with eye makeup.
