Composition of the fragrance:
Longozá essence takes the lead with an aromatic spiciness that recalls cardamom, ginger and warm botanical facets. Bergamot essence adds brightness, while cinnamon essence from Madagascar brings balsamic heat. Coffee extract CO2 introduces a roasted and smoky character, with sandalwood absolute and carrot essence adding texture. Vanilla absolute Bourbon Madagascar, patchouli Sulawesi essence and tonka essence leave a smooth, earthy and gourmand impression.
Story of the fragrance:
The story of Red Island begins in Madagascar, the largest island in the Indian Ocean and a place of red soil, dramatic formations and vivid natural contrasts. Memo Paris presents the island through ingredients that feel inseparable from that landscape. Longozá grows along riverbanks and gives the fragrance its spicy aromatic identity; coffee brings the warmth of freshly roasted beans and social energy; vanilla, another Malagasy treasure, adds softness and comfort. Perfumer Aliénor Massenet imagined the scent as a sensory experience rich in emotion, like a vibrant café filled with aroma and conversation. The flacon’s traveller’s tree motif honours a plant whose fan-shaped form punctuates the island’s scenery.
