The fragrance opens with notes of pear, creamy fig leaf and juicy green mandarin. After a while, the fig itself unfolds, along with vibrant jasmine and orange blossom. An essential coffee accord forms the base notes for the composition of the fragrance, with vanilla and patchouli.
Story of the fragrance
The authors of Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Illicit Green were inspired by non-alcoholic cocktails – the mocktail. In an imaginary shaker, representing the composition of the fragrance, they have combined notes of coffee – iconic for Black Opium – with juicy green mandarin and fig.
This time the iconic shimmering bottle is decorated with a green window, referring back to the haute couture of Yves Saint Laurent in 1971. It shocked the world then and today this flamboyant shade perfectly underscores the perfume’s character.
