If you’re a minimalist, you can make your nail flowers monochrome, say just black or white, and they’ll still look great.

How to prepare your nails for a new manicure
If you have old polish on your nails, get rid of it with nail polish remover. And even if you don’t have your nails painted, still swipe them with a cotton pad dipped in nail polish remover to get rid of any oils and dirt that might affect the new polish. Then wash your hands with soap and water.
If needed, trim your nails to the desired length, and always file them with a nail file. Otherwise, they may end up chipping.
Tip: Hold the file vertical to the nail; do not tilt it either towards you or away from you, otherwise not only will you shorten the nail but it will end up thinner.
Treat the entire nail area with a file to buff and smooth the nails, which improves blood flow to the nail bed. It also removes unevenness and makes the surface softer and smoother. Nail polish also adheres better to buffed nails and does not chip. A buffer polishes the nail, so you don’t have to paint your nails at all if you’re not in the mood for nail varnish.
Apply a cuticle remover around the nail, which helps dissolve and soften the cuticles. This remover, unlike oil, works as an exfoliant. Leave it on as directed, then rinse your hands. Then push the skin back gently with an orangewood stick. If necessary, you can cut it with very sharp scissors – and very carefully. Blunt scissors will only cause hangnails to appear more often.
To keep your nails in the best condition, it’s a good idea to give them a boost occasionally with nail treatment. You can lubricate them with special oils every night or use a special nourishing polish as a primer.
