The Most Beautiful Fragrances of Autumn 2023 that We Can’t Get Enough of

It’s not that we stop liking summer fragrances overnight. It’s more we’re not in the right mood for them all of a sudden. Autumn smells different. Free thinking swaps places with melancholy, and the sun and a flowering meadow with the smell of rain and mysteriously pleasant twilight. And, subconsciously, we want to adapt to nature. If you feel the same way too, come with us to find the right autumn perfume!

A recipe for autumn

Imagine the best autumn dessert. And let me guess – it’s bound to include vanilla and cinnamon, isn’t it? And maybe a pinch of nutmeg, ginger or cardamom? Apart from a dessert recipe, however, it could also be the recipe for the ideal autumn perfume. The blend of spices, gourmand notes and oriental accords evokes warmth and cosiness. Just like a café we’d go to to shelter from the cold and rain. And that’s what autumn is all about.

Those are the scents of autumn

Wood, but not the way you know it

A woody fragrance and autumn – it’s a classic. And we’ve nothing against cedar and sandalwood. They’re just pretty much everywhere. But you can’t say the same about oud. It is one of the rarest woods in the world and is already special because of the way its essence is obtained. The tree must first become infected with fungus, and in response it begins to produce a strong-smelling resin as a defence. It is then distilled to produce oud oil. It sounds expensive, and it really is. And that’s why oud perfumes smell of grandeur and opulence. They’re the ideal choice, perfect for special occasions.

Connection to the earth

Or you could keep it more down to earth when choosing your autumn fragrance. And we mean that literally. The flacon can smell like a walk in the woods, taking in earthy notes of moss, herbs, grass, damp wood or running water and a cool breeze. If you’re looking for something soothing, unmistakable and a bit different, you’ve come to the right place.

At the men’s salon

And now something purely for the gents. Muted colours, big, comfortable chairs and elegance cut with a dose of testosterone. If we stick to the stereotypes, that’s what places exclusively for men are like. They may be a thing of the past, but the scent of them – a blend of tobacco, rum and leather – is still pretty sexy. And the producers of men’s aftershaves for autumn (and beyond) know that too, mixing new intoxicating elixirs using these ingredients over and over again. You’re bound to enjoy one of these in your autumn perfume collection

New perfumes: in the name of vanilla (and sustainability)

Our walk through the popular and fashionable autumn accords is over, so let’s (finally) take a sniff of the specific hot new products for autumn in the world of perfume

At first glance, it appears that we’ll be seeing vanilla on every corner this autumn. You can find it in the base notes of the Yves Saint Laurent Libre L’Absolu Platine fragrance for women, or in Nina Ricci Nina Le Parfum. It’s also in Burberry Goddess, playing a triple role – as an infusion, caviar and absolute.

Gentlemen will be able to show their rebellious side with Calvin Klein Defy, which begins subtly with citrus notes of bergamot, eventually drawing attention with the essence of vetiver oil and amber. Or simply be yourself with Yves Saint Laurent MYSLF. This fragrance is impressive not just because of its combination of floral and woody notes, but also its refillable packaging. And we applaud that all year round!

So, what’s your autumn going to smell like?
