Invite Fragrances into Your Bedroom

Apart from having the right temperature in your bedroom (not higher than 20 degrees), fresh air, a comfortable mattress and total darkness, your sleep can also be improved by fragrances. Join us and dive into the world of aroma, and learn how to make your bedroom smell lovely.

Your Bedroom as a Perfumery of Dreams

Essential Oil for Sleep

Aromatherapy will quickly scent your bedroom and prepare your body for rest. Get yourself a diffuser which will also be a designer home accessory, and then you just need to find the right essential oil for sleeping. The best way to fall asleep is with the notes of lavender, which has a soothing effect, reduces stress and induces deep sleep. But it's also worth trying chamomile, which is relaxing and helps with insomnia, cedar wood, which promotes relaxation, calming sandalwood and ylang-ylang, which lowers blood pressure.

Tip: If you don't have a diffuser, apply a few drops of scented oil to the bottom of your pillow or a bowl of warm water on your bedside table.

Pillow Mist

It's really easy to trick the brain with fragrance. Get a special pillow mist that's guaranteed to soothe you. Choose carefully. It has to be a fragrance that really suits you. The lavender pillow spray is especially popular. You can take it everywhere with you. So you'll feel at home while you sleep, even if you're in a hotel room, a campervan or even in a tent.

And lest we forget, you don't just have to spray it on your pillow, feel free to scent your duvet and sheets too. But you'll need to work out what intensity of fragrance suits you. Start lightly and gradually add more so you don't wake up with a headache.

Candles: Yes, But…

Find a candle whose fragrance symbolises perfect relaxation for you, put it on your bedside table and... And nothing! Don't light it. Just enjoy its fragrance as is. It will waft beautifully throughout the bedroom. And once you've stopped smelling it (after a really long time), light it in the living room and get a new one for your bedroom

The Best Fragrances for Your Bedroom

Perfumes for a Good Night

Have you heard about the new TikTok trend "bedtime perfumes"? Just find a perfume that fits your nighttime. When it becomes an integral part of your evening routine, it might just give you sweet dreams. Again, you have to choose wisely. Think about the fragrance you want to wear to bed. Generally, as a nighttime perfume, those that smell very subtle are ideal. So look for ingredients such as musk, jasmine, lavender or neroli, for example

Some pocket-sized options that you can keep handy everywhere on the go are convenient roll-ons. You apply the fragrance to your pulse points (wrists, temples and neck) before bed and then just inhale the soothing fragrance and tune in for a great night's sleep wherever you are.

Do This Before Bed

  1. Ventilate! Ideally, open the bedroom window half an hour before you go to bed to clean and freshen the air. Preferably, ventilate all night.
  2. Remove disturbing elements. There should be as few things as possible in your bedroom. Put all the clothes you have strewn about in the wardrobe (leave it open when you ventilate, by the way). Also, turn off all of your screens.
  3. Swap your phone for a book. Instead of scrolling, read a book or a magazine. Just set the alarm on your phone, and put it away.
  4. Clean bed sheets. No need to change them every day as no one has time for that. It's ideal to change the bed sheets every week though.
  5. Eat 2 hours before sleep at the latest.
  6. You can also try calming herbal teas. No large amounts though, otherwise you could end up waking up to go to the toilet at night.

Now you know what the best fragrances for better sleep are. Create a calm nighttime atmosphere, and enjoy your new ritual. Good night!
